Community Support at Central Texas Food Bank

Our Austin and Round Rock teams had an amazing evening of service at the Central Texas Food Bank. Together, we packed nearly 9,800 meals for those in need. Our team wore orange bandanas to help raise awareness for Hunger Action Month. We are incredibly proud to have a group of individuals devoted to serving the needs of our community.

Garland Branch Gives Back to the Community

In preparation for back to school, our Garland branch collected school supply donations that will be used throughout classrooms at a local elementary school. They also took the opportunity to send handwritten words of encouragement to all the teachers. We are grateful for our clients and team members who are intentional about fostering a brighter future for our community by supporting education and making a difference in the lives of young learners and their outstanding educators.

Inaugural Susser Bank Scouting Classic Benefits Boys Scouts of America

TROPHY CLUB (April 7, 2023) – More than 160 golfers participated in the Inaugural Susser Bank Scouting Classic golf tournament on April 3, 2023, at the Trophy Club Country Club, benefiting the Boy Scouts of America Circle Ten and Longhorn Councils. The event raised more than $250,000 to support the ScoutReach programs across 47 counties in Texas.

Catherine and Sam L. Susser, Chairman and CEO of Susser Bank, hosted a dinner in their home on the evening prior to the golf tournament to thank the generous sponsors for their strong support and participation in this first annual event.

“This was the first time both the Circle Ten and Longhorn Councils worked together on an initiative,” said Susser. “This event raised significant funds that will allow underserved young men and women the opportunity to participate in scouting. Catherine and I were pleased to welcome so many supporters of the Boy Scouts of America into our home and we know this event will have a generational impact.”

Together, Circle Ten Council and Longhorn Council serve more than 36,000 young men and women throughout the area. The participating youth and their families enjoy camping and outdoor experiences in eight camps across counties the organizations serve. In 2022, more than 1,000 young men and women earned the rank of Eagle and performed nearly 178,000 hours of community service in projects to support the community.

Susser Team Volunteer Day

We are proud to have recently partnered with Tarrant Area Food Bank (TAFB), volunteering for Quality Control at their distribution center, where donated food products are sorted, inspected, and repacked for distribution.

20 of our Susser team members had an incredible day making a huge impact by helping to ensure our neighbors in need receive safe, quality food this holiday season – contributing 27,877 meals for North Texans.

If you are looking for a way to serve or give back to our community this holiday season, please consider volunteering for a shift in Quality Control at TAFB.
